200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training course in Hertfordshire
We are proud to offer a 200-hour Seasonal Yoga Teacher Training that uniquely weaves together traditional yoga and Chinese Five Element theory.
Rather than teaching yoga as a collection of isolated techniques, we explore it as a living, evolving practice that shifts with the seasons, shaping how we move, breathe, rest and relate both on and off the mat.
You do not have to want to teach to join us. Many come for the personal journey, a year of seasonal immersion, and meaningful evolution.
For those who feel called to teach, this unique training sets your teaching apart and is grounded in lived experience.
So, whether you wish to teach with authenticity or simply live in greater balance and harmony, this training honours tradition, respects nature and encourages you to find your own sustainable way of being… supported, inspired, and never short of ideas for your teaching or practice.

What is Seasonal Yoga?
Seasonal Yoga was created by Fitness guru and Yoga Teacher Julie Hanson and colleague Sue Woodd, an expert in many areas of Eastern practices including Qigong, tai chi and shiatsu. Their approach blends yoga with traditional energy practices from the Taoist 5 Element System, working in harmony with changes in the Seasons.
The Seasonal Yoga School has trained over 2000 yoga teachers worldwide and now for the first time is available in East Anglia. Seasonal Yoga Teacher Training courses go far beyond the Yoga Alliance (International) standard requirements for a 200 hour accredited teacher training course.
The next course starts October 2026

Our Approach

We are delighted to be licenced by the Seasonal Yoga School to run this 200 hour Seasonal Yoga Teacher Training.
A blend of ancient wisdoms – classical Yoga and the Chinese Five Elements – Seasonal Yoga invites you to synchronise with the rhythms of nature around you, bringing balance and harmony to your life and practice. Within this framework, the course is comprehensive, structured, fun and accessible.
Rachel & Melissa are passionate about Seasonal living as well as inclusivity in yoga teaching! Between us we bring a wide knowledge of different approaches to asana and experience of teaching a broad range of students, thus empowering our students to offer multiple variations.
Our groups are small – maximum is 10 – and we focus on fostering supportive relationships not just between teachers and students but also within the student group.
It’s our intention for students who want to teach to have knowledge which makes them safe, caring and holistic yoga teachers; and for those who decide the course is for personal development only we offer a nurturing space to grow!

What Graduates have said…
Some comments about previous Teacher Training courses

“The last 12 months have been an amazing journey and I have grown and developed in more ways than I could have imagined. I can’t possibly explain in a few sentences everything that I have gained. I am not sure if I want to teach, that was never my intention but I it has given me the belief in myself to know that I can, should I choose to.
I can’t thank the course leaders Rachel and Melissa enough, and of course my lovely fellow students. They were all amazing and so supportive, we formed a very special bond. Rachel is a wonderful teacher and assisted by Melissa they really are the perfect combination.”
S.K.– Teacher Training Graduate – Letchworth
“It doesn’t really matter if you ultimately want to teach or not, I would recommend this teacher training to anyone who is looking to learn, grow and explore a way of practicing that aligns to nature and the seasons… it just makes sense and I feel so much more connected to the things that really matter in life. Truly inspiring”

Personally, it’s been life-changing…and for someone who is getting on in life, I wish I’d introduced myself to Yoga and experienced the Foundation course and then this SYTT course many years ago!… I’m learning so much from Rachel and Melissa, and my fellow students are a joy to spend time with, to learn with and from”
L.L. – Teacher Training Graduate – Luton
“From the moment I saw the Seasonal Yoga course advertised, it resonated deeply. The idea of living in harmony with the seasons felt so natural, and everything else has flowed from that. I will be forever grateful to myself for showing up, to the course itself, to the incredible teachers, and to the beautiful friendships formed along the way .
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

What makes this course different?
This unique course combines training in classical hatha yoga – postures, meditation, pranayama, philosophy – with a deep dive into the Chinese Five Elements. By the end of the course you will understand the Seasonal changes in energy through the year, know about the body organs and meridians associated with each season, and be able to bring yourself into harmony with that Seasonal Energy through your Seasonal Yoga Practice.
How cool is that?
