Fundraising Projects

Local charities we support with Yoga classes.

One of the absolute highlights of the last few years or so is the charity fundraising we have done! Starting soon after the first lockdown in 2021, I started running a monthly Yin Yoga class in order to raise funds for local charities (usually small ones) that might face financial challenges in “normal” times, let alone during a pandemic. Over the period of a couple of years we raised over £6000 for the worthy charities below.

This tradition now continues in the form of occasional Yin Yoga Fundraising classes online. Students attending the class can choose how much to donate, and sometimes donations are sent by others who are not attending the class. Each time 100% of funds raised go to our nominated charity. It’s such an uplifting thing to be able to do, and the plan is to continue this as a regular slot in the Ahimsa Yoga annual calendar.
